{"id":5926,"date":"2026-07-01T12:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-07-01T19:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newporthillscommunityclub.org\/blog\/?p=5926"},"modified":"2026-07-14T00:26:34","modified_gmt":"2026-07-14T07:26:34","slug":"garden-tour-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newporthillscommunityclub.org\/blog\/2026\/07\/01\/garden-tour-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Garden Tour 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>3rd ANNUAL GARDEN TOUR HUGE SUCCESS!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NHCC 3rd Annual Garden Tour was held on Saturday, June 20th.&nbsp; Weather started out cold, but soon turned perfect.&nbsp; Approximately 35 folks met at the old bank building in the shopping center, and we carpooled\/caravanned as a group to the four amazing gardens.&nbsp; Attendees were awed by unusual plants, a tiny house, whimsical yard art, colorful blooms, amazingly designed water features, terraced gardens, artistic plant arrangements, and water wise plants!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bonus:&nbsp; We were also invited to visit the Children&#8217;s Garden at Newport Heights Elementary School, spearheaded by Diana and Brian, to see what our local students have been growing, which was very impressive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We were inspired, educated, and met new friends along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A BIG thank you to the garden hosts who so graciously allowed us to invade their space.&nbsp; Irene, Gary, Vicki, and Frank and Kit were very hospitable, shared maintenance tips, gardening ideas, snacks and even plant starts.&nbsp; It was just a great community-building event, and a lovely way to spend a morning with Newport Hills neighbors.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A thank you goes out to Bala, too, for taking and sharing such great photos, which are posted on our website, too.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking forward to doing it again next year!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sincerely, Anne Rittenhouse and Christy Santos, NHCC Garden Tour Chairs<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>3rd ANNUAL GARDEN TOUR HUGE SUCCESS!
