  • Hi Ruth:

We’re trying! Santa Tour hit several snags this year, including no access to a flatbed trailer with which to tow Santa through the neighborhood. Because of the numerous obstacles the tour was facing we were going to cancel this year but we decided to give it a last ditch try. If the tour happens Santa won’t come through in his usual sleigh but following the fire truck in either an SUV (if raining) or in one of two vintage vehicles (weather permitting). We currently have a commitment from Santa Shilley and fire truck driver Mark Vinup for Saturday, December 15. We’re waiting for Bellevue FD to respond with the green light on the fire truck, which is really important because that’s what alerts residents that Santa is drawing near. We’re hoping to have an answer by the end of Friday 12/7 so we can put the word out on the blog, on the Facebook page, on ND, and via flyers at the neighborhood businesses.

Please keep your fingers crossed for Santa and remember to send in your $10 annual NHCC membership dues if you haven’t already. We have less than 100 households who’ve paid against a 500 household goal, which means the NHCC is getting critically low on funds to do stuff like Santa Tour, Spring Egg, and other events residents love. It’s why you haven’t received a newsletter in quite a while.

    Thank you,

    Heidi Dean

  • No, the Club will not be hosting a 4th of July picnic this year (part of the reason we had the block party BBQ at the shopping center last month). We encourage everyone to check out the Swim & Tennis Club’s 4th of July open house picnic event, which is open to everybody (don’t need to be a member).
