NEWPORT HILLS PARK PROJECT
Newport Hills was one of several parks designated to receive synthetic turf in the 2008 Parks Levy. Construction is expected to begin in late winter or early spring 2010 and be ready for use for the fall 2010 season. More information can be found at:

NEIGHBORHOOD ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM
The Neighborhood Enhancement Program (NEP) has been a significant component of the city’s overall outreach effort since 1988. Bellevue residents identify projects that will improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods, collectively prioritize those projects, and work with city staff to implement the improvements. The program is on a three-year cycle.
Newport Hills residents recently received mailings asking for project ideas. Post cards were due back to the city by December 18, 2009. There will be a workshop in March 2010 to discuss ideas and voting will take place in April, 2010. The last project approved and completed for Newport Hills was a new Coal Creek Park access trail. The trail starts near the Newport Hills entry sign on SE 60th above Coal Creek Parkway and connects to the Coal Creek Natural Area trail that follows the creek and beyond to Cougar Mountain and its trail network.
