Well, Christmas 2009 has passed and so has the 2009 Santa Tour. How quickly it all seems to arrive and go! Even though we encountered some hurdles with this year’s event and missed the fire truck, Santa was able to successfully come through Newport Hills and for many of you, get quality time and give him your Christmas list in person at the Cornerstone Studio.
We also tried a Holiday Bazaar this year, and with good results! We had various vendors and a great variety of breads, cakes, hand knitted items, one of a kind photos and lovely bath and beauty items. We will be obtaining feedback from our vendors and determining if this will be a continued tradition for Newport Hills Santa Tour. Thank you to the vendors who braved the cold and gave this inaugural event a try, thank you to Grace Whiteaker for managing the event and thank you to those neighbors that browsed and purchased items from our local vendors!
Thank you also to those who donated food along the way and at the studio. This food went to those locally in need so thank you for your generosity. We hope to continue this tradition and that next year is bigger and better!
A great big thanks goes to the following volunteers and merchants who in some fashion helped bring the Santa Tour to fruition. There were a lot of pieces, from building Santa’s sleigh, to breakdown, obtaining candy canes and oranges, decoration and breakdown of the studio, and those that participated in the Tour itself and much in between! I am pleased to say that we had the most volunteers this year since I took over this event 5 years ago! I am so proud and thankful to our wonderful neighbors who gave their time, talent, and donations to make this event happen!

I thought this bake/gift sale was a great idea ! It was a good way to meet neighbors who I wouldn’t have gotten too many chances to meet otherwise. I hope that this will happen again next year (Maybe a new property owner will be in place by then, and the vendors will be able to be INSIDE !!!)

Thank you for the feedback Claire, I agree it was great! Hopefully something will be in place for a warmer Holiday Bazaar next time! Thank you for your support of this event!
