Hi Julie:

I asked Michelle Hilhorst the same question last Tuesday but, unfortunately, she wasn’t able to give me an answer.

Bill had some snafus with contractors and permitting. We know he got the electrical permit cleared and I believe the work is done. He had to start over with a new plumber and re-submit permit paperwork. That may be the current hold up.

Bill is anxious to open and hoping NH residents won’t forget about him. We continue to assure him that his store is much anticipated and will be well-supported. If you drive by and happen to see some activity at the store make sure you stop in and express your excitement in person.

Hi, I’m wondering if you have an update on the new Bill Pace Produce Market that is supposed to open. Any idea when? I won’t be able to attend the Feb meeting.

“Neighborhood leaders” are more than just the NHCC board of directors, they are anyone interested in making Newport Hills a great place to live.

If you have ideas you want to share or just want to dip your toe in the water of community activisim by attending & listening, I encourage you to come to this gathering. I will be there networking with other neighborhood & COB leaders. I believe Robin Bentley, 2013 NHCC VP, will also be there. We would love to meet other NH residents and hear what you have to say.

Newport Heights elementary has two garden beds for an afterschool garden club. They need someone to give lessons in gardening and other enriching matters related to nature for Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afterschool (1.5 hours staring at 2:30 pm). You don’t need experience with gardening or with teaching, the lessons are ready to use. You don’t need to stick to the lesson plans as long as you make sure the other groups is not going to do it. You can choose the grade you want to work with (4th is already taken). You need to like children and like nature. Lessons last 8 weeks starting mid April. Possibility to be paid.
