Newport NEP Projects: Now it’s time to vote!

A message from Theresa Cuthill, City of Bellevue Community Development Department:

=========================================

Thanks to those who attended the Newport Neighborhood Enhancement Program Open House last night at Newport Heights Elementary School. It was nice to see you all in person. It was the first in-person meeting for NEP since January 2020!

For those who missed it, the evening’s presentation deck, project specifics and a map showing the project locations for the ten Newport NEP projects are available on the City of Bellevue’s website at: https://bellevuewa.gov/city-government/departments/community-development/neighborhoods/neighborhood-improvement-2

Several ballots have already been returned! Be a part of the voting!

Tell us which projects you’d like to see funded with the $282,000 in available funds the City has allocated for your neighborhood area. Simply return the postage paid ballot that each Newport household received with the voter’s pamphlet earlier this month. Voting is limited to one ballot per household, allowing you the opportunity to rate, in priority order, which three projects you feel are most deserving to be funded. Projects will be assigned points; three for first choice, two for second, and one for third. Responses will be tabulated with the highest-scoring projects receiving funding.

Ballots must be post marked by Friday, July 22, 2022, to be included in the voting process.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about NEP and please encourage your Newport neighbors to participate in this program as well. It’s an easy way to have input into enhancements in your neighborhood.

Thanks again for joining us!
